Christopher Ray Whitfield, a 50-year-old African American male, was tragically killed on June 4, 2022, in Clayton, North Carolina. The incident occurred at his home on Verrazano Place, where he was found dead from a gunshot wound. The Clayton Police Department responded to a shooting call at approximately 3:20 p.m. and discovered Whitfield's body inside the residence.
