Jamel TyJon Grant, a 24-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on July 10, 2022, in Asheville, North Carolina. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning near the intersection of Spruce and College streets, just a short distance from the Asheville Police Department. According to reports, Grant was found by first responders with multiple gunshot wounds to his back. He was transported to Mission Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
