Jarion Beauchamp, a 27-year-old Detroit resident, was killed on June 2, 2016, in a shooting that occurred shortly after midnight. The incident took place in the area of Kentucky Street on Detroit's west side. Police reported that Beauchamp was targeted by an unknown suspect, and his death was among the 302 homicides recorded in Detroit during 2016, reflecting a slight increase in the city’s homicide rate compared to the previous year.
