On the morning of June 2, 2016, Tyrone McFolley, a 28-year-old Black male, was driving in his hometown of Detroit, Michigan. As he waited at a traffic light near the intersection of Chalmers and the I-94 service drive around 8:30 AM, his life was abruptly cut short. Another vehicle, a black Chrysler Sebring, pulled up alongside him. A man exited the passenger side of the Sebring, opened fire on McFolley, and then quickly got back into the car, which was driven by a woman.
