Sergeant Edwin C. Hosli, Sr., a 30-year-old male of Caucasian ethnicity, was a dedicated officer with the New Orleans Police Department. On December 31, 1972, he responded to an alarm at a warehouse shortly after the murder of Patrolman Alfred Harrell. As he entered the warehouse, he was shot by a sniper.
