Billy Wayne McIntosh, a 32-year-old Caucasian male, was a dedicated deputy sheriff with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana. On October 1, 1997, Deputy McIntosh responded to a domestic disturbance call while off duty. As he approached the residence, he was shot by the suspect, who wielded an AK-47 rifle.
