Assistant Chief of Police Bill Jewel 'Putt' Linder, a 62-year-old male, was tragically killed on October 10, 2004, in Wisner, Louisiana. Linder, who had served with the Wisner Police Department for three years and previously with the Baskin Police Department for approximately six years, was responding to a burglary call when the incident occurred.
