On a late Sunday evening in New Orleans, the lives of two teenagers were tragically cut short in a burst of violence. Toney Gleason, an 18-year-old male, and his friend, 19-year-old Freddie Smith Jr., were together on March 7, 2010, when they were ambushed and fatally shot. The attack occurred around 11 p.m. in the 4300 block of North Villere Street, a violent end to what should have been an ordinary night.
