In the early hours of a Tuesday in April 2010, the life of 39-year-old Richard Bradley Temple Jr. was tragically cut short. A cab driver for Glenn's Cab Service, Temple was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Marrero, Louisiana. On the night of Monday, April 5, 2010, he transported a passenger from Harvey to the Algiers neighborhood. It was after this fare, around midnight, that he was found shot to death on Sandra Drive in Algiers.
Richard, known to his loved ones as Ricky, passed away on Tuesday, April 6, 2010.
The New Orleans Police Department quickly began an investigation into the homicide. Their efforts led them to identify a suspect in the fatal shooting. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for 21-year-old John Raymond in connection with the killing of the cab driver. The investigation centered on the events that transpired after Temple dropped off his fare in the Algiers neighborhood, leading to the violent encounter that ended his life.
