Nyla Peters, a 6-month-old African American girl, was tragically found dead on July 12, 2011, in Kenner, Louisiana. The incident occurred in the family's home on East Louisiana State Drive. Nyla was one of the three young children who were shot by their mother, Nadia Braxton, before she turned the gun on herself. The other victims were Kayla Peters, 12, and Nayah Peters, 1½ years old. The bodies were discovered by the husband and father, who called the authorities upon finding them.
