Brandon Joseph Nielsen, a 34-year-old white male, was a Deputy Sheriff with the St. John the Baptist Parish Sheriff's Office in Louisiana. On August 16, 2012, he was tragically killed in the line of duty. Deputy Nielsen and his colleague, Deputy Jeremy Triche, were investigating an earlier ambush shooting that had wounded a sheriff's office investigator.
