In the winter of 2013 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, a dispute over drugs tragically cut short the life of 33-year-old Paul Wright. On January 20th, Wright was lending a hand to a relative and her boyfriend, Alex Senegal, as they moved between trailers on Plains Port Hudson Road. What began as a helpful gesture soon spiraled into a fatal confrontation.
An argument erupted when Senegal, then 32, accused Wright of stealing drugs from him.
The disagreement escalated quickly and violently, culminating in Senegal allegedly shooting Wright multiple times. Emergency services were called to the scene, and Wright was rushed to a local hospital with grave injuries. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he succumbed to his wounds and was pronounced dead.
The East Baton Rouge Sheriff's Office immediately launched an investigation into the shooting. Based on witness accounts and evidence gathered at the scene, investigators identified Alex Senegal as the primary suspect. A warrant was issued for his arrest on charges of second-degree murder and being a felon in possession of a firearm. Authorities publicly appealed for any information regarding Senegal's whereabouts to bring him into custody and answer for the death of Paul Wright.
