In the late winter of 2014, a deeply tragic event unfolded in Opelousas, Louisiana, culminating in the death of five-year-old Jon-Qualon Pitre. The young boy, a male child, was in his own front yard when he was struck by a bullet, a single, devastating moment that would ultimately end his life.
