In the early morning hours of a Tuesday in October 2014, fifteen-year-old George D. Carter III was walking to school in New Orleans, Louisiana, when his life was tragically cut short. The young man was discovered on a desolate stretch of Piety Street in the Desire neighborhood, the victim of a fatal gunshot wound to the head.
