Jeremy David Mardis, a six-year-old boy, was tragically killed on November 3, 2015, in Marksville, Louisiana. Jeremy, who was white, was shot by two Marksville law enforcement officers, Derrick Stafford and Norris Greenhouse Jr., during an incident that also left his father, Christopher Few, injured. The shooting occurred around 9:30 p.m. and was captured on a police body-worn video camera, which played a significant role in the swift arrests of the officers involved.
