In the early morning hours of Friday, March 4, 2016, the life of Jermaine Decuir Sr., a 38-year-old man from New Iberia, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. He was fatally wounded in a shooting that occurred on Ann Street in his hometown. The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office was called to the scene to investigate the violent incident that had claimed his life.
Jermaine, a native and resident of New Iberia, was a father to a son, Jermaine Decuir Jr., and two daughters, Octavious Sonnier
and Quiana Roy. He also had a stepson, Dameon Polite Jr. His death left a void in the lives of his mother, Wendy Henry, his two brothers, Danny Decuir and Danny Moore, and his four sisters, Carondelette Decuir, Tashanna Decuir, Santanna Decuir, and Danicka Green. He was preceded in death by his father, Danny Moore, and two daughters, Jermasha Javon Decuir and Z'Kylyn Anlya Gregoire.
Following the shooting, the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office initiated an investigation into the homicide. However, details regarding any potential suspects or arrests in connection with the death of Jermaine Decuir Sr. have not been publicly released.
