In the late hours of a January night in New Iberia, Louisiana, the life of Kahydrick JaCorey Mitchell, a 27-year-old Black man, was cut tragically short. On January 29, 2018, deputies from the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office were dispatched to the 900 block of Mississippi Street, where a grim discovery awaited them in the parking lot of an apartment complex.
