In the early morning hours of April 2nd, the quiet of a Shreveport neighborhood was broken by the sound of a car crash. Responding officers arrived at the 3800 block of DeSoto Street to find a vehicle that had struck a tree. Inside, they discovered the body of 21-year-old RanDavious Armstrong, a Black male. It was quickly apparent that the crash was not the cause of his death; Armstrong had sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.
The scene told a grim story.
Several shell casings were found on the roadway near the vehicle, indicating that the shooting had taken place before the car veered off its path and into the tree. Shreveport Police began a homicide investigation into the violent death of the young man.
