In the late morning of a Saturday in LaPlace, Louisiana, a tragic event unfolded that would claim the life of a young girl. Five-year-old Haley Moore, a female described as spunky and full of life, was at her father's home on Country Club Drive. Her father, Eric Moore, was the only adult in the residence at the time and had gone to take a shower.
Left unattended, the curious child came across her father's. 45 caliber handgun, which had been left unsecured on a table.
