In the late hours of a Friday night in August 2016, a visit to a friend's house in New Orleans turned fatal for Justin Scott. The 25-year-old man was found on the front porch of a residence in the 1700 block of North Broad Street, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Police were called to the scene in the 7th Ward at approximately 11 p.m. on August 26, where they discovered Scott, who was pronounced dead at the scene. His death was investigated as a homicide.
