In the quiet city of Bossier City, Louisiana, the life of 63-year-old Salvador Aguirre was tragically cut short on the evening of Thursday, May 25, 2017. A violent encounter in the 1500 block of Arcadia Street left Aguirre with a fatal gunshot wound to his upper body. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found him gravely injured. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but despite the efforts of medical personnel, he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the homicide
quickly led Bossier City police to identify and apprehend four suspects in connection with the shooting. Within days of the incident, authorities arrested 27-year-old Jerome “J-Roc” Robinson, 21-year-old Kevonte Dekorey Austin, and 23-year-old Collin Dewayne Williams. A fourth suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile, was also taken into custody. All four individuals faced charges of first-degree murder for their alleged roles in the death of Salvador Aguirre. In the initial stages of the investigation, law enforcement also announced they were searching for a fifth suspect believed to be connected to the crime.
Further investigation by the Bossier City Police Department's Violent Crimes Unit revealed that the shooting stemmed from a planned robbery. It was determined that the suspects had arranged to meet with Aguirre under the guise of a transaction, with the intention of robbing him. During the commission of the robbery, Aguirre was shot. The diligent work of detectives led to the recovery of the suspected murder weapon, a crucial piece of evidence in the case against the accused.
While the initial arrests brought some measure of progress in the case, the search for the fifth suspect continued. Jerome Robinson, one of the adult suspects, also faced an additional charge of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. The legal process for the four individuals charged began to unfold as they awaited trial for their involvement in the senseless act of violence that ended the life of Salvador Aguirre.
