In a tragic turn of events on June 26, 2017, Danny Harris Jr., a 42-year-old White/Caucasian male from New Iberia, Louisiana, lost his life in what authorities have determined to be a murder-suicide. The incident unfolded around 10:25 a.m. in the 200 block of East Lawrence Street, where law enforcement discovered Harris and another man, 37-year-old Judd Judice, also of New Iberia, deceased from gunshot wounds.
According to the Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office, the violent encounter
involved an ex-husband and the current boyfriend of the ex-husband's wife. While the investigation concluded that one man shot the other before taking his own life, authorities did not publicly disclose which of the two men was the perpetrator. The home where the shooting occurred belonged to one of the men.
Witnesses at the scene reported seeing a woman and several children fleeing from the residence during the shooting. Fortunately, no one else was physically harmed during the incident. The Iberia Parish Sheriff's Office and the Coroner's Office investigated the circumstances that led to the fatal confrontation. The case was contained to the two deceased individuals, and as it was classified as a murder-suicide, there were no ensuing arrests or searches for suspects.
