Anfernee James Holden, a 22-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on January 5, 2019, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Holden was shot outside an apartment complex shortly before 10 p.m. on that fateful Saturday. Despite being rushed to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries. The East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's Office reported that someone had driven up to the complex and opened fire on Holden, who was visiting the complex at the time.
