In the early evening of March 27, 2019, tragedy struck in Crowley, Louisiana, ending the life of 33-year-old Eric Clement. The male victim was outside a residence in the 500 block of West Fifth Street when a vehicle carrying multiple individuals approached. Several gunshots were fired from the vehicle, striking Clement multiple times.
Emergency services were called to the scene at approximately 7:25 p.m. Clement was rushed to a local hospital for treatment of his critical injuries.
Despite the efforts of medical personnel, he ultimately succumbed to the gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead.
The Crowley Police Department immediately launched a homicide investigation into the fatal shooting. Authorities believe that multiple suspects were involved in the commission of the crime. In an effort to generate leads and bring those responsible to justice, Crime Stoppers offered a cash reward for any information that would lead to an arrest in the case. As of the latest available reports, the investigation remains ongoing, and no arrests have been publicly announced. The motive for the shooting has not been released by law enforcement officials.
