In the early morning hours of September 5, 2026, the life of 33-year-old Patrick Tramaine Robinson was tragically cut short in a hail of gunfire in Crowley, Louisiana. Just after midnight, at approximately 12:20 a.m., Robinson was driving from the Westwood Subdivision when he was ambushed. Multiple assailants, concealed near a set of railroad tracks and dense brush, opened fire on his vehicle as it traveled down Marcel Thomas Avenue. The attack was sudden and brutal, leaving Robinson with fatal wounds.
After being struck by the gunfire, Robinson's car continued for a few blocks before crashing on West Seventh Street. When police were called to the scene of the crash around 12:30 a.m., they discovered the vehicle riddled with bullet holes and Robinson unresponsive inside, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Despite the arrival of medical assistance, his injuries were too severe, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. The suspects were seen fleeing the area, disappearing into a wooded area to the east of Marcel Thomas Avenue immediately after the shooting.
Detectives with the Crowley Police Department are actively investigating the case as a homicide. However, no arrests have been made, and the authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. In an effort to generate leads, law enforcement officials have appealed to the public for any information that might help them solve the crime. Crime Stoppers of Acadia Parish is offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for any information that leads to an arrest in connection with the shooting. The investigation into the ambush and the motive behind it remains ongoing as authorities work to bring those responsible for Patrick Robinson's death to justice.
