On the evening of March 6, 2020, Skye Q. Myles, a 37-year-old African American man, was fatally shot in the Central City area of New Orleans. The incident occurred at approximately 9:00 p.m. in the 2000 block of Foucher Street, where officers from the New Orleans Police Department responded to a report of gunfire. Upon their arrival, they discovered Myles on the ground, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The investigation into the death of Skye Q. Myles, a father of five, is being handled as a homicide. While the case remains open, no arrests have been made, and authorities have not publicly identified any suspects. However, the New Orleans Police Department has sought two individuals for questioning as persons of interest who they believe may have valuable information regarding the shooting. Investigators have indicated that these individuals were present at the time of the incident. They have been publicly identified for questioning only and are not currently wanted for arrest.
A reward of up to $2,500 has been offered by Crimestoppers of Greater New Orleans for any information that leads to an arrest in connection with this unsolved homicide. The family and community continue to await justice as the investigation continues.
