On the evening of October 14, 2020, a burst of gunfire shattered the night on Evangeline Street in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, claiming the life of Malik Isaiah Pitcher. The 24-year-old Black male was driving a vehicle, accompanied by a female passenger, when another car pulled alongside them. Without warning, occupants of the second vehicle opened fire, striking both Pitcher and his companion.
