In the quiet early hours of a Wednesday morning in New Orleans, tragedy befell 24-year-old Curlie Jerleen Thomas. On November 11, 2020, the young African American mother was discovered inside a vehicle in the 6800 block of Cindy Place in New Orleans East, having been fatally shot. Her life, which was largely devoted to her two young daughters, was abruptly ended, leaving a void in the hearts of her family and friends.
