In the early hours of Christmas morning, a domestic dispute in Eunice, Louisiana, tragically escalated, leaving 31-year-old Tommy Lee Williams of Ville Platte dead from a gunshot wound. The male victim was discovered by police lying in the yard of a home in the 400 block of Corn Street at approximately 2:45 a.m. on December 25, 2020. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Following an investigation into the shooting, authorities arrested 20-year-old Clifford Isaiah Campbell of Eunice.
Campbell was subsequently charged with second-degree murder in connection with Williams' death. At the time of the arrest, law enforcement officials indicated that the investigation was ongoing and that further arrests or additional charges could be forthcoming as more details about the incident emerged. The shooting was characterized by police as the result of a domestic dispute that had occurred shortly before the fatal encounter.
