In the early summer of 2021, a celebration in Eunice, Louisiana, turned into a scene of tragedy, forever altering the lives of a local family. Donavon Reed, a 31-year-old man, was attending a graduation party on June 6th when gunfire erupted, cutting his life short. A father of six, Reed was struck by a single bullet to the torso and later died at Acadian Medical Center. Another man, Troy Godfrey, was also wounded in the incident, sustaining gunshot wounds to each hand and his leg.
