An 18-year-old African American male, Clinton Mekhi Tyree Lawrence, was fatally shot on Mardi Gras, February 16, 2021, in New Orleans, Louisiana. A student at Southern University at New Orleans, he was in the New Orleans East Little Woods area when the incident occurred. The New Orleans Police Department responded to reports of the shooting and found Lawrence with multiple gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
