In the early afternoon of March 30, 2021, tragedy struck in the Pines Village neighborhood of New Orleans, forever altering the lives of one family. On that Tuesday, at approximately 12:21 p.m., the sound of gunfire shattered the midday calm near the intersection of Dwyer and Downman roads. When the chaos subsided, a young man, later identified as 20-year-old Cornelius Joseph, was found lying on the sidewalk, having sustained multiple gunshot wounds.
