James Joseph Jr., a 25-year-old African American male, tragically lost his life on April 9, 2021, in Abbeville, Louisiana. The incident occurred around 9:30 a.m. when officers responded to a shots-fired call in the 900 block of E. Lafayette St. Upon arrival, they found James Joseph Jr. suffering from at least one apparent gunshot wound. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
