In the summer of 2021, the life of 18-year-old Keondre Carlisle, a Black male, was tragically cut short in a burst of violence in New Iberia, Louisiana. On the evening of July 22, 2021, Carlisle and another young man, 20-year-old Cortez Montgomery, were fatally shot in what police would investigate as a double homicide.
