In the late summer of 2021, the life of Derrick Fitzgerald Taylor Branch, a 29-year-old male, was tragically cut short on the streets of New Orleans, Louisiana. On August 23, he was fatally wounded by gunfire, a stark reminder of the persistent specter of gun violence in the city. Known affectionately as 'Noon' to his friends and family, Derrick was just a few months away from celebrating his 30th birthday.
