In the early evening of November 28, 2021, a dispute over the custody of a child in Shreveport, Louisiana, ended in the tragic death of 44-year-old Darren D. Holmes. The male victim was involved in a heated altercation with a family member in the parking lot of a convenience store located in the 4300 block of Linwood Avenue. The confrontation escalated horrifically when a firearm was introduced, and Holmes was shot multiple times.
