On April 21, 2014, Louis Montgomery, a 35-year-old man from Oakland, California, was fatally shot while driving near the 1400 block of 104th Avenue in East Oakland. The shooting occurred just after 5 p.m., and following the attack, Montgomery's vehicle crashed into a light pole. He was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities believe that Montgomery was shot nearby and continued driving until he lost control of the car due to his injuries.
