On the night of February 12, 2022, the life of 20-year-old Rashon Franklin, an African American male, was cut short in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Around 9:30 p.m., officers with the Baton Rouge Police Department responded to reports of a shooting in the 2100 block of Kentucky Street. Upon arrival, they discovered Franklin in a vacant lot, suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Despite any medical attention he may have received, he succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
