In the early hours of Easter Sunday, April 12, 2009, the life of 18-year-old Mario Oviedo was tragically cut short. The young Hispanic male from Mattapan was attending an after-hours party at 151 Homestead Street in the Roxbury neighborhood of Boston when violence erupted. Around 2:30 a.m., police responded to a call for a person shot at the location. Upon their arrival, they discovered Oviedo suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
