A simmering Saturday night in Natchitoches, Louisiana, turned deadly on June 25, 2022, when a dispute at a gas station erupted into gunfire, leaving two men dead and another wounded. One of the deceased was identified as Daniel Jamar Williams, a 23-year-old male from Creston. According to investigators, Williams and another individual were at a
gas pump when they were approached by 21-year-old Marquis Evans of Natchitoches. An altercation ensued, escalating quickly and tragically to an exchange of gunfire. When the shooting ceased, both Williams and Evans lay dead at the scene. A third person who had been with Williams was also struck by a bullet and sustained injuries.
The investigation into the double homicide was launched immediately by the Natchitoches Police Department.
