On October 16, 2009, Carlos Romero-Franco, age 31, was fatally shot in the face at 598 Harvard Street in Mattapan, Boston. Following the shooting, Boston Police launched an investigation that uncovered a large-scale heroin operation at the same location. Authorities discovered heroin with an estimated street value of $1 million, along with a firearm and a significant amount of cash.
