On December 21, 2007, 17-year-old Tazmyn Soares was shot and killed in Boston, Massachusetts. Soares, who had roots in both New Bedford and Boston, was a young recording artist with aspirations in the music industry. His tragic death shocked both the Dorchester and New Bedford communities, where he had spent much of his life.
