In the early morning hours of December 9, 2022, the life of 43-year-old Davin Franklin, a male resident of New Orleans, Louisiana, was tragically cut short. Responding to a medical emergency call at approximately 3:26 a.m. in the 1700 block of Hendee Street, New Orleans Police Department Fourth District officers discovered Franklin suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced deceased at the scene.
The Orleans Parish Coroner's Office officially identified the victim as Davin Franklin on December 13, 2022. As the New Orleans Police Department's Homicide Unit delved into the investigation, they were able to identify a suspect in the fatal shooting. Detectives secured an arrest warrant for Travis Andry, a Black male, on the charge of second-degree murder.
On January 5, 2023, a coordinated effort between the NOPD's Violent Offenders Warrant Squad and U.S. Marshals from both the New Orleans and Tennessee offices led to the apprehension of Travis Andry in Madison, Tennessee. Andry, from Harvey, Louisiana, was taken into custody and awaited extradition back to New Orleans to face the murder charge. The investigation into the death of Davin Franklin remains ongoing, and authorities have encouraged anyone with additional information to come forward.
