Benjamin "Benji" Wilson Jr., a 17-year-old African American male, was a highly regarded high school basketball player from Neal F. Simeon Vocational High School in Chicago, Illinois. On November 20, 1984, Wilson was tragically shot in the neighborhood surrounding his school during the lunch hour. The incident occurred when Wilson, who was preoccupied with trying to talk to his estranged girlfriend, inadvertently bumped into Billy Moore, a student from nearby Calumet High School.
