Shambreya Envy Barfield, a 21-year-old African American woman, tragically lost her life on July 3, 2014, in Chicago, IL. She was fatally shot in the head around 3:30 p.m. in the East Garfield Park neighborhood near Monroe and Hamlin. The incident also left another 21-year-old woman injured, who was shot in the arm. Despite the severity of the crime, no arrests have been made in connection to Shambreya's death.
