Evidence Technician Elijah Harris, a 52-year-old African American male, was a dedicated member of the Chicago Police Department, serving for over 19 years. On the night of July 31, 1989, while on duty in the Gresham District, Harris was approached by a citizen who reported seeing a teenager with a gun.
