Robert H. Perkins, a 45-year-old male of African American ethnicity, was a dedicated officer with the Chicago Police Department. On March 7, 1992, Officer Perkins was shot and killed while questioning a burglary suspect in front of 6059 South Wabash Avenue. During the altercation, Officer Perkins suffered two gunshot wounds and tragically died from his injuries.

The suspect, who was resisting arrest, was apprehended shortly after the incident. He was later convicted of first-degree murder ...
