Robert H. Perkins, a 45-year-old male of African American ethnicity, was a dedicated officer with the Chicago Police Department. On March 7, 1992, Officer Perkins was shot and killed while questioning a burglary suspect in front of 6059 South Wabash Avenue. During the altercation, Officer Perkins suffered two gunshot wounds and tragically died from his injuries.
