Upon arrival, officers found both victims with multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced them dead at the scene.

Terry Player and his sister Terri were sitting in a black SUV when the shooting occurred. Terri Player was identified as a former student of St. Sabina Academy, a Catholic elementary school in Auburn Gresham, where she had graduated in 2022. Rev. Michael Pfleger, who confirmed Terri's identity, expressed deep sorrow over the loss and emphasized the need for the city to address the escalating violence.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, with Area 2 detectives handling the case. As of the current date, no arrests have been made. The incident is part of a larger wave of violence that night, which saw a total of 10 people shot, with five fatalities across different neighborhoods in Chicago.
