Gayle Dubowski, a 20-year-old female student from Carol Stream, Illinois, was tragically killed on February 14, 2008, during a mass shooting at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois. Dubowski, who was a sophomore at NIU, was one of five students who lost their lives in this horrific event. She was known for her deep faith, her involvement in the DeKalb Church of Christ, and her participation in choir and theater during her high school years.
