Catalina Garcia, a 20-year-old Latina woman, tragically lost her life on February 14, 2008, in DeKalb, Illinois. She was a student at Northern Illinois University , where she was pursuing her dream of becoming a teacher. Catalina was known for her vibrant personality and her ability to bring joy to those around her. She was the youngest of four siblings in a family from Guadalajara, Mexico, who had settled in Cicero, Illinois.
